Sponge Cake - A never Fail recipe



4 Eggs (Seperated)

1 cup sugar(Powdered)

4 Tb Cold water

1 cup Sifted Flour(maida)

1 tsp Baking Powder .

1 tsp vanilla
Oven Temp ~ 325° Baking Time ~ 30 Min.Pan Type ~ small cake pan

Optional:

4 Tbsp cocoa powder .

2 Tbsp. butter

1tsp vanila


a)1/4 cup water mixed with 1/4 cup sugar

b)Mix the optional ingredients together very very nicely .


Method:

Preheat oven, grease a small tube pan.
Beat egg yolks and sugar together until very light. Add water. Sift together flour and baking powder. Add to batter. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into batter. Pour batter into prepared pan.Bake. Cool completely and invert onto cake platter. To serve, slice cake in half and fill with (a). Top with (b).


I have made a chocolate sponge cake . . With the cake batter i have mixed 3 tsp cocoa powder and garnished with chopped n fried cashews .

YUM YUM YUM... that looks delicious.. i love any kind of cakes.. i guess you need to use a convectional oven to bake sponge cakes.. i usually take the easy way out and bake my cakes in the microwave..
